Flowers of Love

The sun is shining and it's a bright and glorious winter day here in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. There's something about seeing the sun in these winter months that does something to the soul. I'm here in my stamp room (office), working my FT job and I have the Solid Gold playlist from Apple Music blasting in the background as I take a moment to write this post. I feel like my soul has been uplifted. Isn't it amazing what some sun and good music can do? Do you find the joy in simple things to make you feel good? I'd love to hear your tips, leave them in the comments below!

Anyway...let's get to why you're here...inspiration! Today I'm featuring another card I made using the Forever & Always bundle. It's another great card for Valentine's Day this coming weekend; or perhaps to celebrate a wedding anniversary...I'll let you decide.

I love the simplicity of this card. A little bit of patterned Designer Series Paper, embellishments and some coloured flowers pull it together. Of course, the STUNNING Blushing Bride metallic ribbon makes anything pretty, don't you agree?

Card Measurements:

  • Basic Black card stock base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

  • DSP: 2 3/4" x 4"

  • Basic White scraps

  • Basic White: 5 1/4" x 4"

Card Details:

  • Cut your card stock base to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and fold in half.

  • Cut DSP to size and using paper snips to create banner flag end. I like to snip up the middle first and then come in on angles from the corners to the tip of the centre cut.

  • Tie a length of the Blushing Bride metallic ribbon in a bow around the top of the DSP, and attach the whole thing to the card base along the left side (landscape orientation), using Stampin' Seal.

  • On the scraps of Basic White, stamp the two different sized flowers and three leaves. Use Stampin' Blends in Petal Pink & Flirty Flamingo to colour the flowers; and Old Olive for the leaves. Attach to card base using Stampin' Dimensionals on the bottom right.

  • Next you're going to pull out the Always dies and use the "Love" die with the foil paper in Blushing Bride; and the outline of the Love with Vellum. I would recommend using the adhesive sheets with the "Love" die cut. Layer the word onto the outline and then attach using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the centre of the DSP banner.

  • Sprinkle with Elegant Faceted Gems to complete.

  • Add a sheet of Basic White to the interior of the card. Stamp a flower on the bottom right corner if you choose.

Isn't it pretty? I adore this card and the simple elegance. I'll actually be sending this out as an anniversary card to one of my good friends.
